Many people make the mistake of thinking the shelter is just a place for strays. There are many brought in the shelter daily. If you are missing a pet you must get up there and look. Strays have a minimum of 5 business days. They may get the opportunity to be moved to the adoption ward but most do not.  The statistics that are posted on the MDA site (Michigan Department of Agriculture) are scary.  If you are missing a pet and it ends up at the shelter it will either be put to sleep after the 5 business days, adopted to another family after 5 business days, if released it may go to rescue but not until after 10 business days.

Every animal deserves to be loved!
