Manny

Picture
Meet Manny!  See how handsome this little guy is?  What a wonderful little guy that loves to cuddle.  He is very sweet, has
a great personality and is in a wonderful home!  An FGCAS volunteer seen him and just knew he would be a perfect addition
to for her family.

Scared and

Picture
This is Manny scared to death at the Genesee County Animal Shelter. The Genesee County Shelter is a very scary place.
He growled and shook like a leaf because he was traumatized by the barking and the environment.  Who would have known this
scared little dog in this picture could be so sweet and loving.

This my friends is why a dogs personality should never be judged by what you see in a cage at the GCAC.  Imagine what the dogs
feel like.  What a nightmare!!!  Actually the look on his face and seeing him cowered in the corner speaks volumes of sadness

Annie

Picture
Annie's foster mom quickly got attached to this pretty.  Just look at this pretty girl,
sometimes it is hard to let them go

My Bella Girl!

Picture
This is my Bella.  I love her!  She spent 5 weeks at the GCAC.  I was there when she was brought in as a stray.  She just waited patiently
for her owner but her owner never came. Black dogs do not show well in the cages at the GCAC.  People just walk right on by them because the shelter has dim lighting.

I can say i am the lucky one because Bella is the best.  From day 1 she knew how to sit, sit pretty, loves other dogs, loves everyone she meets and her tail never stops wagging.  Her tail wags when she walks, eats, if you talk to her it wags faster and if you say a key word like "walk" or "park" her tail really gets going.

Bella taking her freedom ride home

Picture
Bella was getting depressed in the small cage she was in. She barked like crazy and ran from side to side. Bella was going cage crazy. The pads of her feet were tender because all she had was bars to stand on or lay on.  As the days went by her final day at the shelter was almost there.  Bella would have been euthanized Friday, June 25th. Bella was pulled Thursday June 24th, 2010.  I offered to foster her.  Well that lasted 2 days!  As we were driving home i looked her in the eyes and knew there was no possible way i could let her go.  She has been a part of my family since her freedom ride out of GCAC.

Ruby

Picture
This beautiful girl sat at the GCAC in a cage just waiting for her turn.  People looked at many dogs.  Some were even taken out
while poor Ruby just sat there.  The problem is black dogs do not show well in the cages.  Most are overlooked.

Baby Onyx

Picture
Onyx was dropped off in a box at a home.  Lucky for this girl that there is a Friends
member that loves the kittens that require being bottle fed.  Luckier yet that her foster
mom decided to adopt her

Pippa's Freedom Ride!

Picture
The smile says it all!  This poor thing was scared to death at the shelter.
She growled at the shelter employees which is never a good thing!

Pippa

Picture
  AAhhh!  The comfy life!

Moon

Picture
Moon made herself at home in her foster home.  She loves everyone including dogs and cats.
Her foster family decided she should be a permanent member of the family

Picture
Look at Carma run!  This girl had such a sad beginning in life.  Her owner passed away and she lived in a cold
empty apartment in a house.  The people living in the other apartment could not afford her so they looked for
a new home.  Lucky for her that we hae a gsd member.  Carma quickly won over the hearts ofher foster mom and dad.
Because she has hip dysplasia her foster dad decided it best if his family adopt her

Cap n' Jack

Picture
This was Cap n' Jack on  his freedom ride.  This poor guy had an embedded collar, had an infection due to the collar that
caused him to have sores all over his body.

Cap n' Jack now

Picture
This is Cap n' Jack now.  The picture says it all!
