Donate

Your financial donation is tax-deductible, as Friends of Genesee County Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Cash donations may be specified for:

  • Rescue Fees: Donations pay the cost of moving exceptional animals that are in danger of being euthanized to an appropriate rescue organization, and provide help toward spaying, neutering and vet fees.

  • Adoption Fee Assistance: The Genesee County Animal Shelter cannot discount adoption fees, but a donation to this fund can help offset the cost of adoption for qualified individuals and families.

  • Purchase Assistance: You may designate your contribution toward the purchase of:
    • Cupboards for supplies in our volunteer room.
    • Vinyl-coated, steel cage bottom "racks" to prevent animal toes, treats, and legs from becoming stuck in the wire cage floors.
    • Chain link gates to divide our walking area at the Shelter in to 2 separate spaces.

  • Or donate much-needed items, including:
    • Paper towels
    • Bath towels
    • Disposable plastic gloves
    • Unopened liquid bleach
    • New, washable toys
    • Unopened hard food, kibble & treats
    • Unopened, canned dog, cat, kitten and puppy food
    • Non-clumping litter
    • 6- or 8-foot static & retractable leashes
    • Buckle or Martingale collars
    • Gas gift cards (for volunteers to use when transporting animals to rescue)
