Wish List for Cash Donations

Your financial or material donation is tax-deductible, as Friends of Genesee County Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Cash donations may be specified for:

  • Rescue Fees: Donations pay the cost of moving exceptional animals that are in danger of being euthanized to an appropriate rescue organization and provide help toward spaying, neutering and vet fees.

  • Adoption Fee Assistance: The Genesee County Animal Shelter does discount adoption fees, but a donation to this fund can help offset the cost of adoption for qualified individuals and families.

  • Purchase Assistance: You may also designate your contribution toward the purchase of:
    • Cupboards for supplies in our volunteer room.
    • Vinyl-coated, steel cage bottom "racks" to prevent animal toes, treats, and legs from becoming stuck in the wire cage floors.
    • Chain link fencing to divide our walking area at the Shelter in to 2 separate spaces.
    • Veterinary supplies for the Shelter animals or for Friends Rescued animals.

Veterinary Supply Wish List

If you are a veterinarian in Genesee County, we invite you to donate any extra, unused or soon to expire veterinary supplies to Friends for use at Animal Control. Receipts will be provided for any usable supplies. Especially needed:

  • Distemper, Rabies and Bordatella vaccines

  • Feline Aids/Leukemia and Heartworm testing kits

  • Flea preventative (Capstar, Frontline, etc)

  • Wormer for puppies, kittens and adult dogs and cats

  • Suture for surgeries

Dream Wish

A Building fund so Friends' Rescue members can purchase an existing building or build a small kennel so we can quarantine cats, kittens, dogs and pups that are purchased from Animal Control for rescue. We also would have events, classes, fundraisers and MORE. Who could have imagined 3 years ago that we would be needing a place to call Home!

A usable building for our organization to use either for free or have given/donated to us as a charitable donation for all of the above and more!

Friends will soon have a new page added to our website to provide information and links to Businesses in and around Genesee County who show their support for Animal Welfare in Genesee County by contributing time, services and/or items on our Wish List.

We know times are tough for everyone and it's our way of giving some Free Advertising to those of you who care enough to help the animals who are the innocent victims.

Did you know that at least one daily walk is important—especially for larger or more active dogs that are housed in cages no larger than 26 by 52 inches.
